Chemical-Resistant Cover Rubber

AdobeStock_523405157_edited.jpg

Chemical-resistant cover rubber grades are formulated for conveyor belt applications exposed to acids, alkalis, oils, and other corrosive chemicals. These specialised elastomer compounds resist swelling, hardening, and surface degradation, helping maintain structural integrity and stable performance during prolonged chemical exposure.

Designed to limit chemical penetration while preserving flexibility and abrasion resistance, these grades help reduce premature wear and contamination risk. This ensures extended belt service life and reliable operation in demanding industrial and processing environments.

Chemical Resistance Ratings

Citrus Fruits

Chemical resistance ratings are verified through standard immersion testing in accordance with ASTM D471 / ISO 1817. Rubber samples are submerged in specified chemical concentrations at ~23°C for 72–96 hours. To meet performance criteria, the belt must maintain dimensional stability (typically within ±10% volume change) and retain at least 85–90% of its original mechanical strength.
