Oil-Resistant Cover Rubber

Oil-resistant cover rubber grades are engineered for conveyor belt applications where exposure to oils, fats, and greasy materials can degrade standard rubber compounds. In such environments, conventional rubber may absorb oil, leading to swelling, softening, and accelerated deterioration of the belt surface.
Formulated with specialised oil-resistant compounds, these grades reduce oil absorption and maintain structural stability under oily operating conditions. This helps extend belt service life, reduce maintenance requirements, and ensure reliable performance across a wide range of industrial conveying applications.
Oil Resistance Ratings

Grade | Oil Exposure Level | Max. Volume Swell (%) | Min. Tensile Strength (MPa) | Min. Elongation at Break (%) | Max. Abrasion Loss (mm³) | Common Applications |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
MOR | Occasional, Light | 60 | 15 | 400 | 150 | Wood chips, whole grains, recycling, slightly treated agricultural feeds |
OR | Continuous, Heavy | 35 | 17 | 400 | 130 | Petroleum coke, crushed oily seeds, oiled coal, fertiliser, animal fats |
SOR | Highly Aggressive | 25 | 15 | 350 | 130 | Machine oil, crude oil, heavily oiled scrap metal, chemical plants |
Max. Volume Swell (%) is based on testing according to ASTM D471 / ISO 1817, submerged in IRM 903 test oil for 72 hours at 70°C
