New Movex Stainless Steel Pins

Leopard Intertrade is pleased to share an important update from Movex, introducing stainless steel pin (SS Pin) options for selected series of Movex and Movex Blueline modular belts. These belt series were previously available only with plastic pins.
By replacing plastic pins with stainless steel pins, these belts can now deliver greater durability and improved mechanical performance, particularly in demanding industrial environments.
Key Advantages
The SS pin option offers several important performance improvements:
+10% Maximum Working Load (MWL)
Higher mechanical strength and wear resistance
Reduced elongation over time for better dimensional stability
Wider operating temperature range
Excellent corrosion resistance
When Stainless Steel Pins Are Recommended
While plastic pins remain suitable for many standard applications, SS pins provide clear advantages in certain operating conditions.
Abrasive or Dirty Environments
Applications such as de-craters or conveying areas with dirt and contaminants can cause plastic pins to wear faster. Stainless steel pins provide improved resistance to abrasive conditions. In these cases, belt materials such as Acetal or PBT are often preferred for added durability.
High Temperature Processes
In applications involving heat or steam, plastic pins may elongate over time and affect belt pitch. Stainless steel pins help maintain dimensional stability even when PP belt materials are used.
Submerged or Water-Based Applications
For processes where belts operate submerged in water, plastic pins may cause the belt to float. Stainless steel pins add weight to the belt and help maintain proper positioning and stability.
This enhancement makes these Movex modular belts even more suitable for heavy-duty and specialised industrial applications, improving long-term reliability in demanding environments.
